Behavioural and SEN Teaching Support Assistant Location : CF32, Bridgend Job Type : Full-Time Pay : £12.90 per hour (£83.85 per day) Job Overview Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a school in Bridgend that supports students with additional needs. We are looking for a compassionate, patient, and adaptable individual who thrives in dynamic environments. While prior experience in schools is not essential, experience working with individuals with additional needs is highly beneficial and will provide a significant advantage to candidates. The role involves working with either small groups or on a one-to-one basis, so flexibility and the ability to adapt to varying group sizes are crucial. This is a long-term vacancy, requiring commitment and consistency to help maintain the structured routine that is vital for the pupils. Key Responsibilities Supporting pupils’ engagement in all educational sessions. Assisting with personal care tasks if required (e.g., toileting and feeding). Developing and applying effective strategies to manage challenging behaviour when necessary. Participating in relevant training and courses as required to support professional growth. Requirements and Qualifications Enhanced DBS clearance and registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC). A strong understanding of child development, particularly for those with disabilities or challenging behaviours. Manual handling experience is highly desirable.
