The Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO) is a core member of both the Digital Healthcare Team and Corporate Nursing Team.
As a transformational leader with exemplary clinical credibility, the CNIO will support the Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO) and Medical Information Officer (MIO) by providing senior professional leadership to the Trust's digital strategy.
You will identify opportunities to transform practice for the benefit of patients, and in partnership with the CCIOs, will provide expert professional and clinical advice and guidance and will engage with key stakeholders to ensure patient and clinical involvement in the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of systems and services.
The CNIO is responsible for strategic and operational nursing leadership in the development, deployment, re-engineering, optimisation and integration of clinical information systems to support nursing/midwifery/allied health professional (NMAHP) and patient care.
The CNIO provides clinical leadership to advance NMAHP utilisation of clinical information systems consistent with the goals and objectives of WUTH's NMAHP initiatives.
As an experienced clinician, the CNIO will be uniquely positioned to truly understand the value that a particular technology can bring to the advancement of practice and quality of care at WUTH and to the wider community.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide exceptional clinical leadership creating a vision for WUTH NMAHP digital and act as a champion for digital.
2. Lead assessment of requirements and implementation of strategies to meet current needs and future direction for NMHP digital within the organisation and across transitions through the continuum of care.
3. Undertake a comprehensive review of NMAHP workflows with the aim of maximising efficiency across the pathway of care.

Person Specification
Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training
* Current active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council NMC/Health and Care Professional Council HCPC
* Educated to Masters level or can demonstrate equivalent experience
* Experience of managing teams
* Digital Clinical safety Officer training or demonstration of equivalent.
Knowledge and Skills
* To have the ability to plan and organise a broad range of complex activities across different professional groups and organisations which will require ongoing review and modification of plans
* To be able to manage competing demands from managerial and staff perspectives across different services and geographical sites and be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
* Extensive experience in managing and delivering change successfully
* Significant experience and understanding of the value that digital technology and information brings to improving quality of care, outcomes and efficiency
* Excellent communication skills including the ability to articulate NMAHP issues to technical colleagues and conversely technical aspects to non-technical colleagues
* To have the knowledge of tendering and contracting processes
