As part of our ongoingexpansion, Amazon Private Brands Global Sourcing is looking for aSenior Sourcing Manager to join our Europeanteam.
This role provides an excitingopportunity to work with our growing European supplier baseproducing for our global Private Brands business. You will bediving deep into data and researching industry trends to identifynew suppliers in Europe which we can partner with. You will also bemanaging our existing European suppliers, owning the sourcingprocess, negotiating costs and collaborating with our worldwideteams to bring products to market. The role involves uncoveringdefects and process improvement opportunities, along with designingand implementing long-term solutions in collaboration with product,quality, operations, transportation, and customer service teams. Inthis role, you will have autonomy to drive the business forward,owning supplier relationships and aspects of productdevelopment.
The ideal candidate will thrivein a highly collaborative, creative, and fast-paced environment.The sourcing manager in this role must be analytical and able tobreak down complex problems into simple solutions, and have strongwill to get things done and deliver results no matter theobstacles. Data analytical skills (using SQL) and projectmanagement experience are both pluses.
Theideal candidate is also comfortable dealing with ambiguity andworking in an entrepreneurial, start-up environment. Finally, thecandidate must also be a strong communicator and influencer, withthe ability to communicate concisely and effectively with multiplestakeholders to drive change.
Key jobresponsibilities
1. Identification and development ofrelationships with key suppliers and supply chain partners.Building our European supplier strategy and driving this forwardwith our international teams.
2. Build a KPI-basedstrategic supplier management framework to strengthen and expandcollaboration with partners that meet our high quality standardsand add value to our brands.
3. Utilize alternativesourcing approaches such as resourcing (shifting supply from onefactory to another) to more effectively manage and leverageexisting supplier base.
4. Understand global supplychains, sourcing industry and profit drivers
5. Partnerwith Global Product Development Managers, Quality and Supply Chainteams to develop sourcing strategy across multiple categories andlaunch products globally.
6. Identify defects and developscalable processes/tech solutions to address and accelerate ourPrivate Label business.
7. Collaborate withcross-functional teams to improve tools andproductivity.
8. Build new innovations to unlock newopportunities or increase efficiencies across the business andacross Amazon.
A day in the life
Youwill manage our European supplier base for a range of productcategories. This involves factory research, supplier onboarding andmanagement of existing supplier relationships including costnegotiations and product ordering.
You willown initiatives that enable our business to scale and drive productroadmap alignment across teams such as PM, Sourcing, Quality,Program and Compliance.
You will buildlong-term strategy for growing the business in Europe and driveglobal expansion of our supplier base and productioncapabilities.
BASICQUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree orequivalent
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategyand definition
- Experience with end to end productdelivery
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffsof a product
- Experience as a product manager orowner
- Experience owning technology products
-Experience with product cycles of 6+ months
- Experiencein product or program management, product marketing, businessdevelopment or technology
PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in influencing seniorleadership through data driven insights
- Experienceworking across functional teams and seniorstakeholders
