We are looking for a Service Coordinator to lead the team at our new service at London Road in Warmley, Bristol.
London Rd is a CQC Registered Mental Health Recovery Service for 7 adults. The Service supports people with complex mental health needs to take the next steps on their recovery journey, often after a long period of hospitalisation.
The successful Service Coordinator will lead the team in enabling individuals to create their own developmental programme with the aim of progressing to independent living. Supporting people to develop the strategies that underpin resilience, to learn the responsibilities of citizenship, to acquire practical living skills and to access education.
You will work alongside the Registered Service Manager to establish this new service as a high-quality provision within the Milestones Mental Health offer and ensure the service remains compliant with the legislation that governs the sector, meeting or exceeding CQC standards, while demonstrating and evidencing that the service provides excellent support for people.
Other responsibilities will include:
1. Taking responsibility for the day to day running of the service which will include planning and managing the rota to ensure that people get the support they need when they need it.
2. Writing and reviewing support and risk management plans, ensuring that the people we support are at the centre of the process.
3. Supervising a team of staff, providing regular one to one supervisions, organising team meetings and ensuring training is up to date.
4. Participating in referrals and assessments for the service.
5. Working within a set budget and monitoring expenditure as appropriate.
The successful candidate will:
1. Have strong leadership skills, ideally with some management experience.
2. Be organised and practical, able to prioritise work in accordance with the imperatives of the service.
3. Be competent in using IT applications, such as rota planning systems, or be able to learn these swiftly.
4. Have experience of working in mental health, particularly working with people who have complex mental health needs.
5. Be confident in responding to people experiencing acute mental illness, dynamic risk management and developing escalation plans to ensure that people receive the support that they need.
6. Have knowledge of mental health systems, processes and best practice with experience of working with trauma informed approaches.
