Introduction to role We are looking for an Engineer with the passion and willingness to engineer and develop designs for projects, the ability to follow challenging standards and overall to add value to our customers at home and abroad. This role will suit someone who is of a specialist, technical and administrative nature. The incumbent should have persistence and enjoy working within a highly structured and predictable climate. Routine tasks, seeing a job through to conclusion and the ability to work in a friendly, logical and systematic manner are important aspects of the role. The job is also calling for clearly defined work parameters, adherence to rules and procedure and a person who is patient and hard working. Ideally the person should be routine-orientated, methodical, thorough, compliant, cautious, sensitive, diplomatic, self-disciplined, amiable and accommodating. Role Responsibilities This role will be assigned to the UK Engineering Parcels team to create the local for local knowledge and experience that currently does not exist. Initially the successful candidate would be assigned to support, parcel/sortation projects in the UK and also to support bids for current new opportunities in the future. There will be significant customer liaison and on-site presence is required, so this is a role that cannot be done remotely, they will however being supported by and supporting the Voice engineering teams. This is in line with RoUK&I strategy. Local resource required managing multiple parcel projects & sites. Your responsibilities and activities will be: A Mechanical/Layout/Project Engineer to graduate degree/HND level with a minimum of 2 years automated material handling system experience e.g. Baggage, Parcel, Warehouse, Conveyor • Ensure that the mechanical system design is engineered following the relevant safety standards and CDM regulations (Perform detailed Risk Assessments etc.) • Confident in the use of 2D & 3D AutoCAD. Navisworks (Clash Detection), Revit & BIM beneficial too. • Exposure to building interfaces, services, steelwork, mezzanines, • Able to create layouts and documents required for site installation teams. • Strong equipment knowledge to create accurate specifications. • Able to Risk Assess & mitigate project uncertainty through opportunity. • Knowledge of Machinery Safety Standards to aid operation and maintenance • Able to work in a team or independently to take responsibility & ownership of designs • Coordinate designs with the customer and other company disciplines • Continued process & equipment learning will be provided • Willing to travel for support site as required.
