CancerTools.org, the research tools arm of CRUK, is a non-profit, global community of cancer researchers, academic institutes, and professional societies, with a shared mission to fund and accelerate cancer research. With a history of more than 40 years of managing and providing reagents to both academic and for-profit laboratories around the world, CancerTools.org has been steadfast in its mission of accelerating cancer research by making research tools widely and easily available.
In this key role for the team, the Quality Specialist will work closely with all areas of the organisation to develop and embed quality systems across CancerTools.org.
You will take a key role as the Quality representative for the organisation, supporting audits and assisting the Senior Leadership Team with the overall quality strategy.
This is a new position for the team; as CancerTools evolves, so will the role, so we are keen for someone to come and take the opportunity to make it their own. You could come from a manufacturing or healthcare background looking to use your skills in a purpose-driven organisation where you can develop and build on your expertise. It’s an exciting opportunity as you will play a key part in shaping quality assurance for CancerTools, which is essential in maintaining our high standards.
What will I be doing?
1. Develop and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) as directed by the Senior Leadership Team and ensure the organisation remains compliant with local and international standards.
2. Take ownership of the customer complaint and investigation process, working with the technical team to resolve issues in a timely fashion.
3. Approve and monitor entries in the Nonconformance, Corrective Action/Preventive Action, complaint, and training systems.
4. Develop and maintain documentation of quality processes and support the rollout of new procedures to CancerTools.org staff.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to successfully implement quality improvement initiatives organisation-wide.
6. Conduct thorough audits and inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
7. Analyze data and identify areas for improvement to optimize operational efficiency.
What are you looking for?
1. Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or a related field, or equivalent experience.
2. Proven experience in quality assurance with a strong understanding of Quality Assurance methodologies and tools.
3. Knowledge of Quality Management System requirements, especially with regard to ISO9001 requirements.
4. Experience in Research Tools / Life Science industry preferred.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering world-class results.
7. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, ambitious environment.
Our organisation values are designed to guide all that we do.
Bold: Act with ambition, courage, and determination.
Credible: Act with rigour and professionalism.
Human: Act to have a positive impact on people.
Together: Act inclusively and collaboratively.
We’re looking for people who can believe in and embody these organisational values and can use them to drive forward progress against our mission to beat cancer.
If you’re interested in applying and excited about working with us but are unsure if you have the right skills and experience, we’d still love to hear from you.

We create a working environment that supports your wellbeing and provide a generous benefits package, a wide range of career and personal development opportunities, and high-quality tools. Our policies and processes enable you to improve your work-life balance, take positive steps in your career, and achieve your personal wellbeing goals.
We operate an anonymised shortlisting process in our commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion. CVs are required for all applications, but we won’t be able to view them until we invite you for an interview. Instead, we ask you to complete the work history section of the online application form for us to be able to assess you fairly and objectively.
Our vision is to create a charity where everyone feels like they belong, benefits from, and participates in the work we do. We actively encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and cultures, in particular those from ethnic minority backgrounds who are currently under-represented.
