Salary: £47,683 – £52,426 depending on experience What you’ll be doing: We are looking for a Software Engineer to support the upgrade and subsequent evolution of an established aircraft on-base warehouse management solution. Your primary duties will include: · Designing & developing technical solutions · Re-working existing Java solutions for operation in a cloud native environment · Adherence to project processes and software development practices · Supporting system test and integration activities · Producing/updating technical documentation · Planning, scheduling, and reviewing work of the team (as part of agile team) · Liaising with multiple stakeholders and reporting on progress · Assisting debugging, fault tracing and analysis for sustainment activities · Supporting product deployment and configuration Your skills and experiences: Essential: · Experience with Java programming language · Experience of the software development lifecycle and processes (e.g. design, coding, unit testing, deployment & support), via industry standard tools (e.g. UML design tools, code IDEs, Automated test platforms) · Experience of GIT based repositories including version & variant management Desirable: · Experience with Python programming language · Experience of Cloud based technologies · Knowledge of Oracle 19C and SQL · An understanding of DevSecOps · Windows or Linux O/S including scripting · Object-oriented design/development including UML, SysML or XML · Experience with legacy SOAP messaging · Some understanding of supply chain operations & warehousing in a military environment Benefits: As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts – you may also be eligible for an annual incentive. The SCM team: The F-35 Maintenance System (MxS) SCM Team operate Agile (DevSecOps) working practices and you will be working as a full-time member of the Scrum product team. The SCM team is centred at Samlesbury, with members also in Filton. The team operate a hybrid working system, working collaboratively in the office when needed.
