We're looking for a skilled communicator who is creative, proactive and excited to support the communications team as we modernise our service and support the Trust to deliver its strategy, and embed its culture.
With support from the wider team, the Senior Communications Officer will plan, produce and implement communications projects and campaigns. They will take a lead role in a team of communications officers and will be responsible for coordinating campaigns and channels, as well as monitoring and evaluating the impact of our work and suggesting new approaches.

Job responsibilities
The Royal Devon communications team sits within a wider communications, engagement and marketing team and has a broad remit in ensuring that patients, colleagues and stakeholders understand the services offered by the Trust, understand our mission, are able to influence our services and are well informed and engaged in the work of the Trust. We achieve this through providing open and transparent access to information about the Trust.
The Senior Communications Officer will support the Trust by providing high-quality, professional, clear and accessible information to successfully engage internal and external stakeholder groups. The role is part of a team responsible for media and public relations as well as colleague and stakeholder communications.
The ideal candidate will have a full communications skill mix with excellent written and personal presentation skills, experience of engaging with staff and stakeholders, and basic project management skills. This post is a key role within the communications team and the post holder will be required to work as an effective member of a wider team.
This is a hybrid role with two to three days a week in the office and the successful candidate can be based in either our Exeter or Barnstaple office. As a Trustwide role, there will be some requirement for travel between offices and sites.
