This is a unique opportunity to be a part of developing and delivering a professional in-house repairs & maintenance service. You will be based on-site to deliver repairs and maintenance across the range of properties as part of the Property and Land Service team ‘PALS’.
Working as part of the PALS team at our communities you will be providing a high-quality general repairs service in various properties and the wider repairs and servicing team as required.
The Trust owns and manages a unique and complex portfolio of over 350 properties and other assets including, but not exclusively:
* Residential accommodation
* A mansion house
* Working farms and smallholdings
* Offices
* Workshops (Woodwork, Pottery, Craft, Art)
* Cafes, creamery, post office
* Other service user support facilities
Location & Travel
This role will be based at our Grange Village and Oaklands Park sites in Newnham-on-Severn, and Taurus Crafts in Lydney. You must be able to travel to these locations. There will be travel required between locations as part of your role.
Duties & Responsibilities
Main responsibilities
* Diagnose and undertake maintenance and repair work to achieve right first time and outstanding customer service.
* Contribute to the financial viability of the responsive repairs service by ensuring all work is correctly recorded.
* Maintain an effective channel of communication with your Line Manager and management.
* Adopt a flexible approach to work, undertaking and promoting work within a Multi Skilled environment to avoid duplication and follow-on work being passed to other front-line staff.
* Responsible for your own health and safety and the safety of others as indicated in the company Health and Safety Policy. This will include complying with safe methods of work, using equipment safely, and contributing to risk assessments, use of PPE and reporting of incidents and accidents.
* Contribute to the development of a core range of materials, consumables and individual stocks to meet the demand of the responsive maintenance service.
* Provide a high level of customer service at all times, behaving in a respectful, courteous and polite manner to internal and external customers.
* Work as part of the wider maintenance team to provide an effective and efficient service to the client.
* Undertake development activities as necessary and appropriate to the role.
* Undertake all duties in accordance with all Trust policies and work towards their continuing development and implementation.
* This is a physically demanding role.
Person Specification
Knowledge & Experience
* Previous experience of working in a similar role.
* Good working knowledge of general property maintenance.
* Knowledge of health and safety legislation and requirements.
* An awareness of the needs of people who use our services.
* Flexibility with regards to working unsociable and additional hours as necessary.
* Flexibility to travel if required.
* Ability to forward plan.
