Electrical Maintenance Engineer (must be time served). £54K.
Work Schedule:
1. Week 1: Mon – Thur 6am-2pm, Friday 6am-1pm.
2. Week 2: Mon – Thur 9.45pm – 6.15am, Fri 6.45pm – 11.45pm.
3. Week 3: Mon – Thur 1.45pm – 10.00pm, Fri 12.45pm – 6.45pm.
Job Role: A member of a team of engineers that ensures proactive response to maintenance and breakdowns on site, thus ensuring that the manufacturing team achieve compliance to the production plan, by minimising engineering downtime. Site engineering strategy is to move the engineering maintenance from a breakdown philosophy; to be achieved by supporting and coaching the effective development of Team members and Advanced Team members in their upskilling on their lines, so changing the performance and efficiency of the existing plant through continuous improvement techniques.
To ensure effective, efficient and timely response to plant breakdowns with respect to site maintenance issues. To ensure that planned maintenance is completed on time and in full as per the site PPM requirements.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety, Quality, Hygiene:
1. Ensure the working environment for team members is safe and suitable.
2. Ensure purchased items conform to legislative, moral and European directive requirements.
3. Personally demonstrate safe behaviour and take responsibility for the management of health & safety of engineering staff and contractors.
4. Carry out duties ensuring the site achieves and maintains required GMP standards.
5. Ensure all work conforms to statutory & safety requirements.
6. Ensure that risk assessments are completed and actioned.
7. Support a culture that enhances behavioural awareness to reduce accidents and near misses.
8. Reduce customer complaints and wastage through effective maintenance and continuous improvement.
People Management - Operations Management:
1. With manager, establish clear objectives and priorities to enable manufacturing to meet operational targets.
2. Maintain and develop close links to the Manufacturing teams.
3. Support and coach the effective development of Team members and advanced Team members.
4. Carry out site maintenance activities and ensure GMP standards are reached.
5. Responsible for monitoring, updating and improving the planned maintenance system and ensuring work is planned and progressed.
6. Updating of plant parameters/set points etc. as per site SOP’s.
7. Ensure that plant and equipment perform to manufacture product efficiently to high-quality standards.
8. Liaise, assist with training and support other departments in the general running of the factory.
9. Undertake the training of others as required.
10. Identify own training needs and with manager agree a time plan for achieving this, to include Multiskilling and continued Upskilling.
Continuous Improvement:
1. Contribute to and help implement continuous improvement, to enhance quality, safety, efficiency, and waste reduction.
2. Provide an innovative proactive support service to the site based on skill and experience, driving innovation for continuous improvements.
3. Participate in CI teams as required.
4. Work closely with support functions (HR, Quality, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Finance) to ensure resources required are identified and communicated with all outstanding issues resolved.
5. Communicate as required with Planning, Manufacturing, and all of site to ensure projects are implemented on time, in full, within budget.
6. Communicate daily with manager to ensure planned maintenance; engineering and production priorities are considered.
7. Communicate as required with Engineering Stores to ensure that spares are available for planned and breakdown maintenance.
Key Relationships: Reporting to the Manufacturing Team Manager (MTM)
Communicate effectively and confidently to:
* FGM & Site Management Team
* Engineering Manager across shifts
* Manufacturing Management and ATMs
* Planning Department to organise downtime and maintenance periods
* H&S Advisor, Environmental Advisor.
Promote team ethics and principles with:
* Internal Site Management Team and factory operatives
* External: Maintain professional communication with Suppliers and contractors (as required).
Decision-making Authority: Able to:
* Halt production.
* Replenish spares within agreed stock holding and budgetary constraints.
