Job Purpose Reporting to the Production Team Leader, the Production Quality Controller is responsible for ensuring product quality, safety, and compliance by performing checks, tests, inspections, and maintaining accurate records throughout the production process. The purpose of this role is to ensure that products meet safety, quality, and labelling standards by performing thorough checks, tests, and inspections throughout the production process. Additionally, the role supports maintaining a positive food safety culture and a clean, compliant working environment. Duties include: Act as role model and ambassador towards our Company values Operating the metal detector to ensure hourly tests are done on the packaged products Taking temperatures and weights of ingredients and products at intervals throughout the day Checking packaging and labels against the master reference guide to ensure each product goes in the correct packaging with the correct label applied Completing label verification paperwork at the end of the line Inspecting the product through the production stages on the line, ensuring the products are made to specification Verifying production paperwork from the previous shift and preparing paperwork for the next Investigating/ supporting with customer complaints Retrieving samples for microbiological testing and organoleptic sessions Participating in weekly taste tests on the products Communicating any issues or feedback to the Production Team Leaders and/or Shift Manager Helping to keep a clean and safe working environment in the production facility Encouraging a positive food safety and quality culture Ad hoc duties as/when required Skills include: Though experience is preferred but not essential, you will ideally possess the following: Experience in a food manufacturing facility (desirable) Food safety qualifications (desirable) Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel Good communication skills, both written and spoken English Experience in a similar role is preferred, training will be provided Observant and high attention to detail Ability to work unsupervised on own initiative, as well as working as part of a team Communicate confidently and professionally with colleagues
