My client is a construction company with a growing presence in the London market and they are looking for a supervisor/manager with experience in structures (foundations and steel frame) to take ownership of an 8-month project in Buckinghamshire. This exciting project involves the redevelopment of a large warehouse into a 3-story supercar storage facility. The start of the project has just been agreed and will expose the successful candidate to the full design and construction process. Following the structural elements, there will be a high-end fit-out of offices and VIP lounges. It is an excellent opportunity to take a project from conception to completion with a solid team of sub-contractors and with the backing of an experienced and active set of directors.
Responsibilities:
1. Read and understand structural drawings (including steel work and possibly rebar).
2. Demonstrate experience coordinating high-risk trades such as steel fixers, welders, and ground workers.
3. Manage and coordinate trades, resolving issues through agreement.
4. Have a robust approach to health and safety, demonstrating experience managing plant and equipment and working at height.
5. Carry out site inductions.
6. Hold daily coordination meetings.
7. Read, evaluate, and review RAMS.
8. Complete daily diaries and site management paperwork including PUWER.
9. Be able to clearly and confidently communicate in person and on the phone.
10. Be IT literate, including emails and Dropbox.
11. Be able to communicate with the client and the professional team.
Minimum Requirements:
First and foremost, the successful candidate must have experience managing substructure/foundations works and steel frame/hollow rib decking.
