Job Description Control and Monitoring Systems Engineer Full time Derby or Solihull/Hybrid An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Control and Monitoring Systems Engineer to join the Software Systems Capability function, based in Derby or Solihull. As a Control and Monitoring Systems Engineer, you will specify, design and validate complex sub-systems, including high-level requirements for the software and / or hardware system components. You will be responsible for the on-time delivery and quality of the controls sub-system and the artefacts associated with the design, verification and validation of the system. Why Rolls-Royce? What you will be doing With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to: Design sub-systems to meet the functional requirements and design constraints by analysis and translation of customer requirements into a set of validated functional requirements for the system or sub-systems. Analyse the control and instrumentation system for functional behaviour, which may include modelling and simulation to demonstrate that the design meets the high-level requirements. Liaise with other disciplines to understand functional performance capabilities of components of the system to facilitate effective component design. Ensure robust and optimal (weight, cost, etc.) designs and problem solutions through the effective application of appropriate engineering tools and applicable processes. Work with the guidance of Control System Specialists defines the physical and functional architecture of the system. Work with the guidance of Control System Specialists undertakes the detailed specification, definition and integration of the system, ensuring that it will accommodate any identified hazards.
