Contracts, Commissioning & Placements Officer Pay Rate: £19.20 per hour Organisation: Bury Council Job Type: Temporary Bury Council are seeking a dedicated Contracts, Commissioning and Placements Officer to join their Children's Commissioning Team. This key role ensures the Council identifies and commissions high-quality placements and services that meet the needs of children and young people while demonstrating value for money. Day-to-day of the role: Collaborate with Children’s Social Care to source suitable residential or foster home placements for children and young people, considering factors like quality, costs, location, and suitability. Provide advice on effective commissioning of services for children and young people. Work with various stakeholders across Children’s Services to develop and implement a coherent approach to commissioning aimed at improving outcomes for children and young people. Assist the Contracts and Commissioning Manager in leading the development and writing of contracts to support the commissioning of services. Provide data and management information regarding placements and other contract requests. Manage the Out of Borough Placements Budget and devolved resources. Support the SEN Team by maintaining records of placements, raising contracts, and managing the payment of invoices for out-of-borough schools. Liaise with Placements North West and other regional initiatives on behalf of the Council's Children's Services. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience in commissioning or procurement, ideally within a children's services or public sector environment, would be beneficial. Excellent organisational and project management skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders. Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage budgets and understand financial data. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
