Position Summary
As a Process Chemist, you will be responsible for ensuring that both new and existing products are made safely and in line with the product specification.
Key Responsibilities
1. Work with the relevant functions to evaluate product manufacture feasibility and handling capability for materials and components.
2. Develop and validate manufacture and cleaning instructions using data trending and analyses.
3. Ensure that SAP product and material set up workflows are executed.
4. Carry out training on products, materials and processes.
5. Use statistical techniques and lead activities to improve process capability, increase efficiency and reduce costs.
6. Plan and deliver complex product change management projects.
7. Follow MOC processes to ensure products are introduced safely, including carrying out process safety and COSHH Assessments.
8. Lead Problem Solves and Complaint Investigations relating to formulation and microbiological issues.
9. Provide technical support for Capital Engineering Project.
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
1. Background in chemistry (degree level or similar with workplace experience) and a proven track record in a similar role (Essential).
2. Experienced SAP user (Essential).
3. Knowledge of continuous Improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Six Sigma, Lean processes, etc.
4. Understanding of safety and environmental regulations relating to chemical manufacture (Desirable).
