Senior Commercial Project Manager Our client’s vision is to be the most loved, progressive and responsible way to travel for generations to come. What you will be doing; They have an exciting opportunity to join their Commercial team as a Senior Commercial Project Manager based in York. As Senior Commercial Project Manager, you'll be responsible for driving forward a number of strategically important commercial programmes and projects which in turn will support the business in delivering key elements of its business plan. These projects will focus on the business’ Fares Utopia Programme (Single Leg Pricing, Simpler Fares, Trusted Fares, Live Set Occupancy, Seat Sure and PAYG), which will radically simplify the passengers experience of buying rail travel and making fares fairer for all. This role will work at the cutting edge of Fares and Ticketing reform, working across industry and closely with government, to drive forward transformational change that supports the business as it seeks to respond to the changing needs of customers. In addition to this you will also be involved in; Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, at all levels within the organisation, to define and achieve mutual understanding of the scope. Listening for, uncovering, and resolving misunderstandings or disagreements about the scope. Ensuring all resources understand the scope as well as how it will affect other projects within the Commercial & Digital Directorates. Understanding what constitutes an end-to-end, thorough cross-functional schedule for the project and involving stakeholders as appropriate to create a valid plan; being able to discuss risk areas and convey impacts to scope or costs if a shorter schedule is demanded. Planning the project(s) in sufficient detail to ensure integration of all activities, identifying cross-departmental/directorate dependencies, and understanding of critical paths and key milestones. Obtaining Portfolio (AFG) approval of the plan through effective communication skills, ensuring thorough understanding of the plan, its implications on revenues, delivery dates, resources, and deliverables. Ensuring a comprehensive budget is prepared, reflecting the plan and all resource needs. Execution and Control - Day-to-day management of the project: Managing the project(s) time, cost and quality activities, in line with the APM project framework. Producing reports in line with the governance requirements of the Programme. Ensuring effective communication to the project teams, internal and external stakeholders, partners, suppliers and customers. Managing proposed changes to project parameters – e.g. scope, budget, schedules. Conducting project meetings and attend programme and portfolio meetings where required. Establishing effective working relationships with all key stakeholders. What you'll need: They're looking for someone who has demonstratable and evidenced experience of managing and delivering projects, preferably within a delivery function. You'll also have; A degree and/or professional qualification in project management such as APM, Prince2 or PMP or equivalent experience. Proven experience of delivering projects to time, cost and quality. Benefits Management experience, producing business cases with measurable benefits. Experience of rail, airline or leisure industry revenue management, pricing, ticketing and retail (desirable).
