Job Title: Senior Air Traffic Engineer (SATE)
Reports to: Manager Air Traffic Services (MATS)
Situated just outside the beautiful spa town of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire Airport Ltd. is looking for either an experienced Senior Air Traffic Engineer (SATE) or a very experienced Air Traffic Engineer (ATE) who feels ready to step up to a very challenging role. We need a very proactive person with a flexible approach to oversee air traffic engineering at the busiest General Aviation airport in the UK. We welcome applications from all over the UK and we would be willing to negotiate assistance with relocation. Realising the importance of employing the right person for this role, salary is negotiable dependant on experience.
Accountability:
The Senior Air Traffic Engineer (SATE) is the engineer responsible for the management and operation of the ATE department and is accountable to the MATS.
Main responsibilities:
1. Approval, oversight and implementation of the maintenance plan, procedures and schedule.
2. Direct liaison with the CAA Air Traffic Engineering Inspectorate.
3. Managing a spare parts inventory.
4. Compilation and review of maintenance and fault investigation reports.
5. Review of failure rates against respective safety cases.
6. Approval of engineering maintenance staff, ensuring that they have carried out the correct training and are competent and current to maintain equipment.
7. Be the main focal point for all aspects of ATC engineering/maintenance and contingency equipment.
8. Arrange additional maintenance/flight checks and advise ATC and Operations with details.
9. Review of flight check reports and record details on Centrik.
10. Post-incident reporting.
11. Modification, control, authorisation and approval of systems in line with CAP670.
12. Ensure that a list of the required legislative documentation and CAA publications appropriate to the task are held and controlled on site.
13. Attend Aerodrome Safety Group and Safety Management Group meetings to discuss and resolve issues surrounding Air Traffic Engineering and equipment.
14. Arrange for an official technical safeguarding study to be conducted when there is a proposal for new equipment installation or construction.
15. Deliver to the MATS an annual report including faults and failures figures, spares inventory, engineering issues outstanding and recommendations to systems.
16. Line Management of the Air Traffic Engineering team.
17. Ensuring that contracted personnel responsible for ATE have received suitable training in accordance with the contracted provider’s training and competency scheme.
18. Undertake responsibilities of an Air Traffic Engineer.
19. Ensuring co-ordination and approval of any contracted service providers as detailed within CAP670.
20. Undertake additional tasks and/or duties as required by the MD, HoO or MATS.
