The Opportunity:
We invite an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team. This role is integral to maintaining our high standards of care and providing expert guidance to our dedicated staff. The role of a Visiting Consultant is an exciting opportunity, offering the chance to build and manage a private outpatient practice while also contributing to our inpatient services. Bristol Priory Hospital will provide administrative support to VCs to arrange timely and effective clinics. VCs do not need to generate referrals as these come from a central point. Priory supports VCs with marketing and there are opportunities to be involved in media promotion.
This VC post will also have practising privileges to admit to our 9-bed private ward which has access to a separate daily therapy programme for addictions and general psychiatry. On the private ward, there are weekly MDT ward rounds and a separate weekly review which the VC would be expected to attend. There are other VCs currently admitting to the private ward which is also supported by Specialty Doctors.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Assess and treat a diverse outpatient population.
2. Oversee the care of inpatients within your specialty.
3. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of therapists and psychologists.
4. Engage in quality improvement and governance activities.
5. Expand your practice in alignment with Bristol Priory's prestigious reputation.
6. Network with professional colleagues and referral sources.
7. Maintain professional development and meet Revalidation requirements.
Why Partner with Bristol Priory?
1. Be associated with a renowned brand in mental health and addiction services.
2. Utilise top-tier facilities and receive professional marketing support.
3. Provide your patients with high-quality therapeutic care.
4. Enjoy the flexibility to manage your time and commitment.
5. Work alongside esteemed consultant colleagues.
6. Offer innovative, evidence-based treatments.
7. Receive competitive financial benefits and explore new career avenues.
Candidate Profile:
1. GMC registration with relevant specialist registration.
2. Experience in psychiatry and substance misuse.
3. A strong understanding of Clinical Governance and regulatory frameworks.
4. Successful completion of a DBS check, funded by Bristol Priory.
Benefits of Joining Bristol Priory:
1. A robust focus on personal and professional development.
2. Admitting privileges to our facilities.
