Registered Veterinary Nurse - Small Animal
We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a passionate Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team. Our practice values work-life balance, offering a 4-day work week working up to 38 hours per week with a 1:4 weekend rotation (Saturday or a Sunday). We can consider full/part-time candidates.
As an RVN with us, you will play a key role in providing exceptional care for a variety of patients, utilising a broad range of nursing skills and knowledge.
About Us
Sheriffs Highway Vets is a well-established practice, ideally located for commuting to Newcastle City Centre, the stunning Northeast coastline, and the picturesque countryside of Durham and Northumberland.
Our main site in Gateshead is a 24-hour facility, and we have three branches in Whickham, Sunderland, and Crawcrook, each performing their own surgeries.
Our practice is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment tools including digital and dental radiography, flexible and rigid endoscopes, in-house lab with haematology, biochemistry, and EPOC machines, high-quality ultrasound with Doppler, laparoscopy and other specialised equipment for soft tissue, orthopaedic and endoscopy surgeries. We also boast a dedicated Out-of-Hour’s emergency and critical care team to ensure continuous care for our patients.
Up to £29,000 negotiable DOE.
Role and Responsibilities
Our nursing team are at the heart of everything we do, and as an RVN with us, you’ll have the opportunity to engage in nurse consultations (weight clinics, 6-month checks, nail trims, nutrition advice etc.), critical patient care, triage, blood sampling, catheter placement, anaesthesia, radiography, lab and microscope work whilst maintaining hygiene protocols and health and safety standards.
