Wiltshire Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our Assessment Team based in Salisbury. This role provides an opportunity to make a real impact in children’s lives, conducting timely and high-quality assessments that ensure children and families receive the right support at the right time.
Working within a multi-agency framework, you will be part of a team that is committed to delivering person-centred, strengths-based social work. You will work closely with children, families, and partner agencies to safeguard children, promote well-being, and enable positive outcomes.
Responsibilities
Undertake statutory social work assessments, identifying risks, needs, and strengths within families.
Work closely with families, schools, health professionals, and partner agencies to develop SMART care plans.
Undertake child protection investigations, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
Prepare and present reports for case conferences, legal proceedings, and multi-agency meetings.
Work in line with best practices and statutory guidance, maintaining accurate case records.
Support children and families to access appropriate services, advocating for their needs.Requirements
Qualifications: Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.
Experience: Significant post-qualification experience in assessment, child protection, and safeguarding.
Skills: Strong risk assessment, communication, and decision-making skills.
