HEAD OF DIGITAL – ENVIRONMENT

What you will be doing:
An opportunity has arisen for a Head of Digital to join the team at Galliford Try within our Environment Business.
The role is flexible in base location and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites, offices and client offices across the business unit.
The Head of Digital Construction role will play an important part in the ongoing development of digital construction capability within the Galliford Try Environment Division and support the delivery of the business strategy. The primary focus of the role will be to develop and implement the Environment Division Digital Strategy; review business systems, develop and implement digitalised solutions to improve efficiency; implement digital tools and processes for pre-construction activities such as digital rehearsals; understand our client aspirations for digitalisation and ensure GT take the lead in collaborative development workshops; ensure all of our Framework regions have defined information management requirements that satisfy the Environment division and the requirements of our clients.
Your role will involve working across all functions of GT Environment including our Water Technologies businesses and supporting our broad supply chain with our digital strategy where necessary. You will coordinate your work with staff carrying out similar roles in other GT divisions and central teams to ensure a consistent company-wide approach and sharing of best practice.
Whilst carrying out your role you will promote the Environment division strategy, developing strong and professional relationships internally and externally. You will also build strong and professional working relationships with all key stakeholders across Galliford Try and act as role model ensuring that you uphold our company values.
You will be responsible for defining and implementing the division’s information management strategy and standard which will broadly align with the GT Group requirements but be suitable for, and serves the needs of, the division as well as meeting the various needs of our wide-ranging client base.

* Able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to utilise a wide range of techniques to achieve positive outcomes
* Strong influencing skills with resilience and determination to promote and implement change with central management system process owners
* Proven track record of driving digital change with demonstrable evidence of benefits achieved in similar or adjacent industries
* Ability to build strong, professional, collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
* Ability to work strategically with Environment Board and be able to have a ‘hands on’ approach with users at project level
* Experience of building high performing teams with the ability to provide constructive feedback that enables improved performance
* Self-starter, comfortable with working at pace, managing multiple, fast changing priorities with high degrees of ambiguity
* Positive work ethic with the ability to effectively motivate others relevant to their individual needs
* Ability to identify process and system improvements to drive out inefficiency
* Technically minded and IT savvy. Ability to understand system and data integration to remove duplication and manual handling of information.
Technical/Professional Expertise and Qualifications Required:
* Practical construction experience and a sound understanding of digital construction tools
* Experience of digital and technological solutions and the benefits with DfMA, off-site construction and asset optimisation
* Experience of CDE packages such as ViewPoint for Projects
* Experienced of operating QA systems Understanding of ISO27001
* Understanding of ISO19650
* Be at the forefront of emerging technologies
* A strong understanding of digital construction and broader construction practices to optimise opportunities
