You will be responsible for leading/overseeing the engineering team for the manufacturing of products within the floor covering division. You will need to ensure the reliability and maintenance functions within the Beech Hill manufacturing plant are performed efficiently and on time to meet the demands of a fast:paced developing business and ensure production continuity consistently.
Plans, organises and co:ordinates through the engineers the total activities and resources of their area.
ENGINEERING
:
Provide continuity of engineering supervision in absence of the Engineering Services Manager.
:
Attend meetings and deputise for Engineering Services Manager.
:
Reduce downtime of the plant and machinery.
:
Highlight engineering spares requirements, liaising with the Stores team.
:
Provide engineering breakdown cover efficiently through the team and hands on.
:
Obtainable for callout if needed

Monitor production equipment
:
Deliver on schedules of maintenance across the plant
:
Carry out maintenance schedules generated by the planned maintenance system and liaise with the maintenance planner
:
Problem solving on line to improve production efficiencies.

Ensure team is available to change over machinery for product changes

Ensure production starts up with no problems.
:
Encourage a continuous improvement program CIP throughout the team
HEALTH and SAFETY
:
Responsible for Health and Safety of Engineers.

To undertake risk assessments for area, and reports issues to health and safety co:ordinator/health and safety forum

To define and promote safe working practices within all operating procedures
COST CONTROL
:
Ensures effective control of budgets (people, materials)
:
Control overtime within guidelines.
:
Control of labour costs.
QUALITY
:
Working closely with Operations and Quality to ensure smooth running of the plant.

Working closely with Project/Process Managers on existing and new installations.
