We are excited to welcome someone to join our small, dedicated team of support workers who share a passion for their job. We are looking for an enthusiastic female (due to the nature of personal care) who can enable our young 29-year-old women to experience all that life can offer. The successful applicant would play an active role in enabling the young women, who has a wonderful, happy personality with a very varied range of activities from therapy sessions to attending live music, shows, holidays and everything in between Her home is fully equipped in the Nanpean area of St Austell. No experience is needed, we are just looking for the right person and we will provide you with all the necessary training. Please note we are recruiting Female Support Workers due to a genuine occupational requirement of the person we support therefore this role is exempt from the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9 What You Will Be Working 24 hours per week (permanent contract) PLUS bank hours also available Salary £12.21 per hour Sleep shifts are paid at the National Living Wage, currently £12.21 What You Will Be Doing Assist the client to exercise choice and control over their own lives as far as they are able in everyday matters but taking into consideration cognitive problems Liaise with and support the family as required Assist the client to ensure an adequate level of hygiene is maintained Supporting the client to use local amenities such as shops and leisure facilities and attend community events Follow the service user plan as documented for the client Maintain accurate and confidential records Participate in manual handling procedures as specified for the client Maintain professional boundaries with the client and their family members, adhering to direction from the case manager as appropriate What You Will Have Full driving licence and own car is essential Ability to treat people with respect and dignity, in a non-judgemental, respectful and caring way, acknowledging their individuality An NVQ / QCF Level 2 or above in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) A genuine interest in providing the best person centre care possible Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Willingness to learn and develop Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS and enrol in the DBS update service Westcountry Case Management are a friendly, forward-thinking company who help our clients recruit their own support workers. You will be employed directly by the client; however, Westcountry Case Management oversee all aspects of the clients care package on her behalf.
