Salary: £48 - £55k per annum, plus extensive benefits

Working hours: 40 hours pw, Monday to Friday 9:00am-6:00pm, with occasional weekend cover

Our Pet Care Pharmacist will be an expert in veterinary medicines and ensure the safe storage, preparation and supply, in line with legal requirements.

What you’ll be doing?
Safe preparation and supply of veterinary medicines and providing advice to customers on the use of medicines, general health and animal lifestyle
Supervise and train other pharmacy staff (including Suitably Qualified Persons)
Undertake activities that support the strategic objectives to maximise the profit and potential of the business
Implement and adopt standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure procedures are in place for the risk avoidance
Ensure all dispensing errors/near misses are logged in accordance with company procedures and undertake any activity necessary to rectify or prevent errors
Ensure all prescriptions received are clinically checked, in a high volume, fast paced environment
Keep and maintain a register of Controlled Drugs (CDs)
Liaise with veterinary surgeons to ensure accuracy, legitimacy and prevent risk
Oversee the ordering and storage of medicines to ensure safety and reduce waste
Oversee the dispatch of prescription medicines
Keep up to date with current veterinary pharmacy practice and CPD
Maintain records in accordance with data protection principles
Ensure that all present and future professional obligations are adhered to
Ensure all queries/responses with customer service within the service level agreement (SLA) to ensure patient safety
Counsel/advise customers on the treatment of minor animal ailments and any adverse side effects or potential interactions
Assume the role of Responsible Pharmacist at the dispensing facility
Adhere to all legal, ethical, professional and company requirements
Effectively line manage team members
Who are we looking for?
GPhC registered with a degree in Pharmacy
Good understanding of e-Commerce principles and an understanding of business rationale and the ability to initiate and implement decisions that will achieve business goals/KPI’s
Leadership experience and able to motivate and develop team skills, ensuring the effective use of resources
IT literate
Commitment to continuing professional development and training
Willingness to utilise veterinary pharmacy skills and knowledge to develop services
Strong communication skills with a professional, tactful and friendly attitude
Demonstrates drive, initiative and proactivity and is highly organised
