About the team
Our Product and Technology teams are the Worldpayers behind the game-changing products and digital experiences we’re best known for. Striving for better, they never stand still — delivering impactful innovations that power transactions across the world.
You will be working on our worldwide payment gateway (WPG): one of the largest-by-volume global payment platforms in the world, focusing intensively on robustness, security, and capacity that can process over 800 transactions every second and exceeding 20 million successful payments every day. You will have a specific focus on our acquirer connections and our Omnichannel proposition. As part of an Agile train, you will contribute and support multiple teams to deliver its commitments in a predictable way. You will work closely with each discipline within the Delivery Team (Release Train Engineer, Product Owner, Development and Test) to ensure solution design and implementation is in line with the business requirements. You will also work across platforms with the wider architecture organization ensuring we have robust end-to-end solutions as we progress our technology evolution.
What you’ll own
1. Work autonomously with our product team and wider architecture team to define requirements for new business and technical problems.
2. Produce designs for artifacts that translate business and technical needs into clear solutions, that include cross-cutting concerns between domains.
3. Analyze requirements and architecture specifications to identify and propose technical solutions.
4. Collaborate with the engineering team to brainstorm and pick the best solutions for a problem within the constraints of the system.
5. Peer review solutions of other designers in the team.
6. Work closely with the delivery teams to ensure that solutions are understood and successfully realized.
7. Work on improving the technical architecture by working closely with our Enterprise Architects to ensure changes align with our target architecture.
8. Provide solution design leadership and accountability for all your design work.
9. Liaise with stakeholders and external teams to research and fully explore the requirements and their context.
10. Assist with the investigation of live system issues and propose solutions to address the root cause.
11. Continuously review and improve delivery processes to enable high quality and fast delivery.
12. Understand the system interfaces and interactions with other components of the platform; aligning requirements with the outer systems.

5. Strong understanding of system architecture and general programming concepts and best practices and ability to lead solutions within them.
6. Sound understanding and experience of the Agile software development lifecycle.
7. Experience with different requirements tracking systems like JIRA or Rally.
8. Working experience with different RDMS or DW (any of Oracle, MS SQL Server, others) and SQL, PL/SQL language.
9. Experience of working across the whole software development & support lifecycle.
10. Experience of working with offshore partner organizations.
11. Strong analytical skills, able to provide support to solve business or production problems.
12. Excellent communication skills, able to articulate technical and non-technical issues.
13. Responsive, assertive and drive a continuous improvement ethos in all interactions.
