Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
As we are a small practice, we are looking for an individual that is interested in learning all sides of accountancy. The role will not be focused on just on aspect and will cover the below.
* Bookkeeping on Xero, with the use of Dext along side it
* Assisting with monthly / weekly payroll processing
* Assisting with year end accounts preparations for limited companies
* Assisting with personal tax returns
* Corresponding with HMRC on behalf of clients
* Corresponding with clients to request information and to answer queries
* General office administration
The role will mainly be office-based initially but once the individual gains more experience, the role can develop into a hybrid / flexitime working arrangement.
We don’t use timesheets or track staff time so we mainly track results and how a staff member is doing with completing tasks.
There is no dress code so you can choose to dress as you want to.
You’ll receive ongoing training in order to complete the above duties to the best of your ability. Boom and Integrate Accounting will provide support and guidance to help you complete the apprenticeship.

* Record transactional data.
* Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
* Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
* Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
* Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
* Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
* Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Your training plan
AAT Level 2 Finance / Accounts Assistant, which includes:
* You'll have AAT exams including bookkeeping controls, bookkeeping transactions, and more
* Modules covering Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviours in Finance
* You'll have a personal tutor to guide you through your training
* You will attend 1:1 sessions with your tutor every 2 / 3 weeks
* End Point Assessment (online)
* Occasional group classes with other learners
* Access to MyAAT for learning material
* AAT Level 2 certificate
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
* English (grade 3/D or above)
* Maths (grade 3/D or above)
