This client is a small but successful company specialising in the engineering, distribution and installation of industry leading manufactured solutions. Its main market is the UK but the company has recently started to become involved in export projects as well.
Based near Huddersfield and founded in the early 1990s, it has grown to become one of the leading suppliers in its field.
They have an ambitious 5 year plan that sees a growing investment in technology driven products that are often network connected. As such, they need to bring in specific expertise to support the sales team, after sales support team and most importantly their customers.
We are therefore looking for a keen and enthusiastic 3rd line engineer or hands on IT manager, willing to learn about the industries they are involved in and to engage with new products. You must be outgoing, presentable and prepared to liaise with suppliers, staff and clients alike.
Full product training will be given but you will need to have a good understanding of the technologies that they use and run on. You will need to enjoy learning how systems work and solving puzzles.
The role will be largely office based but, the successful candidate must be willing to travel nationally and internationally to meet with customers and complete installations.
Regular duties will include:
1. Remote IT support (software & hardware) to our customers
2. Support the sales team with technical presentations to clients
3. Liaising with our client’s own IT support
4. Installing software and hardware at client locations nationally & internationally
5. Running internal product training programmes
6. Provide in house IT support for their own hardware and software
7. Manage and improve their own IT infrastructure (hardware and software)
8. Introduce and manage an in house Cyber Security policy
9. Introduce and manage an IT disaster recovery plan
10. Help the company work towards achieving ISO27001 and ISO27002
Essential skill sets:
1. Experience working in a Windows/Microsoft & Linux environments
2. Experience working with and troubleshooting the following technologies:
* TCP/IP, DNS, Microsoft SQL 2012/2014/2016, Windows Server 2012/2016, Windows 7-10, Teamviewer Remote Support, IIS6/7 Web, Firewall/Router troubleshooting, GitHub usage
1. Ability to understand and discuss cyber security issues at a high level with clients’ IT teams
Experience advantages:
1. PostgreSQL, .net Framework, JavaScript, Python, Restful APIs, C+, C++, ASP
