JOB TITLE: Security Officer
LOCATION: Churchill Square Shopping Centre, Brighton BN1 2RG
CONTRACT: Permanent
PAY RATE: £12.97 per hour
ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE
SHIFT PATTERN: 5 DAYS OVER 7 (INCLUDING WEEKENDS) - HOURS BETWEEN 8AM-8PM (ROTA SHIFTS) - 40 HOURS PER WEEK
This important role is the public face of the Security Team. A can-do and professional attitude is essential in this highly influential role. You also need to ensure exemplary standards of Security and Customer Service are always provided to the client and visitors to the site.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Readily interact with all visitors/tenants within the shopping centre, delivering first class customer focused service
2. Carry out regular patrols of the shopping centre as detailed in the site assignment Instructions, being always proactive
3. Continuously look for opportunities to be of assistance to visitors at the shopping centre, proactively helping wherever opportunities arise
4. Safeguard all the sites are safe and non-threatening environment for all visitors/tenants.
5. Ensuring all incidents are managed in accordance with site policies and procedure
6. Liaising with site control room proactively reacting to incidents and ensuring colleagues are fully briefed and always supported
7. Ensure any unsecure areas of the site are reported to Control Room immediately and action taken to resolve
8. Record/log all non-conformances and emergencies with the appropriate control room operatives
9. Deal efficiently and effectively with all emergencies ensuring the Centre team are kept fully always informed
10. Intelligent understanding of human behaviour, monitoring and surveillance of suspect individuals, logging, and reporting incidents in line with site/company polices
11. Maintain vigilance and highlight/manage unauthorised access by banned individuals
12. Ensure radio procedures are always adhered to
13. Ensure all events/incidents are recorded in the Security Officer notebook correctly and notebook policies are always adhered to
14. Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
15. Any other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager
16. Ensure a timely response to all security issues and events
17. Complete all training requirements as requested by line manager
18. Be available to cover at least one additional shift per month if requested to cover absence/annual leave
19. Liaise closely with the Environmental Services team delivering one service and highlight opportunities in working as one team
