Some of our previous and current projects include: The design, installation, operation and funding of district heating system to serve 3500 homes in Clapham as part of a major regeneration project. The design and installation of a heat network in a rural community in Cambridgeshire to replace oil boilers in 300 homes with centralised low carbon heat generation. The design and installation of a ground source heat pump system to provide heating and cooling to a new development of 300 homes a gym and office building in South London. The design, installation and operation of a new city centre wide low carbon district heating system for the City of Cardiff Developing detailed long-term decarbonisation plans for existing large scale district heating networks to allow them to transition from gas fired CHP led generation to low carbon generation. Our current project list is extended by 3 significant low carbon heat networks which will evolve over the coming months. The Role Hemiko are seeking a highly flexible self-starter to assist the Director of Engineering in delivering design projects to strict timescales and in the administration of the Design Team documentation systems. Ideally, but not essential, you would have had experience in project management / resource planning of design engineers in the field of renewable energy and district heating. You will be responsible for helping our design engineers meet the project timescales and allocated efficiently to support design delivery ultimately contributing to company success. This role requires great organisational skills, a keen understanding of resource management, excellent communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams is all essential. This position will also interact with the Development, Pre-Construction and Construction Teams ensuring a seamless transfer of a project information from start to completion, so it is important that the candidate has strong organisational and communication skills. This position will also require assisting in engaging with third party suppliers to support when the Design Team resource is exhausted. Specific Tasks Participating in the delivery of new energy projects during the pre-construction and construction phases working with and supported by the wider Hemiko Team. In more detail this will include: Assist the team Director in managing team resources across live design projects. Generate reports to provide visibility into resource allocation and utilisation. Assist in identifying resource gaps and in the engagement of 3rd party contractors. Align with Development, Pre-Construction and Construction Teams to understand project requirements, timelines in order to inform Design Team requirements. Assist in maintaining working design programs and provide regular progress reporting throughout the project delivery. Assist in the post project delivery evaluation and reporting identifying areas for improvement. Manage and maintain the Design Team document folders and procedures General administrative duties reflective of the position Regular reporting to the team Director Candidate We are looking for an enthusiastic person with excellent organisational, time management and interpersonal skills who enjoys working collaboratively in dynamic multi-professional teams, assisting in all aspects of the delivery of projects from inception to completion to achieve outstanding results. You will be able to show you have had 2-3 years of experience in a similar role and ideally, but not essential, you will have experience of working in the field of low carbon energy engineering systems for domestic, commercial and industrial buildings. You will have a keen eye for detail and have strong interpersonal skills. We will want you to join our journey toward a more environmentally and technically responsible and effective way of designing energy systems; moving away from conventional processes into a more innovative and free-thinking environment. Skills 2-3 years experience in a coordinator role emphasising time critical delivery. Excellent organisational, time management and planning. Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment. Key ability in managing different personalities. Experience in the use of MS Project, AutoCAD and Procore would be beneficial. Fully IT proficient; Word, PowerPoint, Excel, email systems, etc. as a minimum. Excellent communication skills. Creative, inquisitive and enjoys solving problems. It would be advantageous for the candidate to have a general understanding of the construction & energy industries, how construction projects are planned & delivered.
