About the Role
As our new Journalist, you will work closely with the wider LADbible Group editorial team as part of GAMINGbible. You will be utilising creative skills to enhance GAMINGbible’s brand image whilst continuously developing and improving the quality of articles by reviewing and responding to audience feedback.
Using awareness of current news, trends and viral content to produce quality articles at speed to both engage and maximise audience potential, you’ll be an expert in video game coverage and nerd culture.
If you can't stop thinking about the release of GTA 6 or have burning opinions on the current state of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we want to hear from you. We appreciate everyone has a preferred platform or gaming brand, but you must be well-versed in the industry as a whole and able to tap into the community of any given game.
Finding and pursuing time-relevant content, specialising on stories from the world of video games, and writing around these to involve the reader and maintain a strong online presence is essentially what this role is all about! You’ll also be supporting other teams in delivering content and executing new projects where needed.

6. Remaining proactive by researching and seeking the latest news, trends, gossip and reports ahead of competitors.
7. Working as a proactive member of LADbible Group Editorial team.
8. Producing trending articles at speed.
9. Maintaining impeccable grammar and punctuation skills.
10. Continually striving to understand the tone of the brand.
11. Actively contributing to team meetings, pitches and article ideas.
12. Remaining proactive in sourcing stories to be used across LADbible.
13. Building and maintaining a good rapport with GAMINGbible’s content community.
14. Continually developing and striving to be ahead of other news outlets.
15. Monitoring user activity on articles and manage this in a way that mitigates negativity, offence or detriment.
16. Qualitative and Quantitative: daily monitoring of content performance (shares, likes, comments, clicks).
Skills and experience we'd like you to have
1. A degree in Journalism or similar is desirable.
2. A passion for journalism and writing - if you’ve written for your student paper or have your own blog, we’d love to hear from you!
3. A genuine passion for video games and understanding of the industry.
4. The ability to identify the games, new and old, that resonate with our audience and produce interesting and fun angles for stories.
5. Target driven and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
6. A demonstrably high standard of written English.
7. A proven ability to think, imagine and produce new and original ideas whilst continually delivering unique and engaging content in the LADbible tone.
8. Outstanding writing, research and writing skills.
9. SEO knowledge/experience is desirable.
10. Experienced user of Microsoft Office.
