Quality Engineer (TELFORD)
We are working with a leading metal fabrication business located in the heart of Telford. With a growing order and long term service achievers – this is a great opportunity to join a well-established manufacturer with realistic progression plans available.
Your role will be hands on in the operations side of the business supporting the delivery of quality processes and continuous improvement plans. You will be supported by an experienced team to get you up to speed with their product range and working practices.
Role overview
To assist the Quality Team in collating data to support product and producing the relevant documentation as required.
To liaise with suppliers in resolving quality issues.
To support environmental compliance requests.
Responsibilities
* Covering quality inspection in the absence of work colleagues
* Managing and closing supplier claims in a timely manner
* Ensuring the Quarantine list is kept up to date
* PPAP and FAIR submission, updating and maintaining records
* Providing guidance and advice on environmental information and updates
* Analysing and following up with suppliers on material declarations
* Responding to customers on compliance requests
* Researching item compliance information and reporting on declarable substances
* Determine ways of reducing energy usage across the business
* Collate and analyse data including CO2 footprint and energy reporting.
* Contribute to business evolvement of 5S
* Monitoring and safely scrapping items with a shelf life
* The role requires a confident individual with good attention to detail.
* In dealing with suppliers there needs to be a natural ability to communicate.
* Issuing inspection reports and analysing data requires use of Microsoft Office tools, in particular Excel. Metal and manufacturing knowledge preferred to successfully resolve quality issues.
* Use of basic measuring equipment experience is essential.
Benefits
Salary: £30 - £35,000 per annum
Working Hours: 8am – 4:45pm (Mon – Thurs) & Friday 8am – 2:30pm
25 days plus bank holidays
