All about the role
We are looking for an experienced Driver to do Class 2 work. The role is a multi-drop role, carrying out driving & related duties involved with the carriage of steel goods out of A H Allen Steelstock Limited, Swadlincote, DE11 9EU.
This role is 42.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday with overtime as required.
Hours are 06:30am to 15:45pm (start times can vary)
Specific tasks include:
1. To oversee the safe unloading of vehicles at customer premises and delivering excellent Customer Service.
2. Ensuring Proof of Delivery documents are signed, dated & returned without delay.
3. To check the load security & weight distribution according to latest safe working practices at the beginning and end of each shift.
4. Ensures vehicles are in safe condition, with daily checks correctly completed before use, & are operated in a safe manner.
5. Adhering to exacting health and safety standards at all times

You will have the passion, drive, and confidence to work within the business in a collaborative, creative way; always ensuring a high level of customer service and the ability to build on existing business whilst successfully developing new.
Essential Skills for the role
6. Experience & knowledge of steel handling is highly desirable & also making multi drop deliveries although full training will be offered to the right candidate.
7. To hold a valid HGV Class 2 Licence (with no more than 6 points).
8. Own a Driver CPC & Digital Tachograph card with knowledge of working time directive.
9. Good attention to detail & customer service skills.
