We are strengthening the Commercial Governance and Assurance Team within the Commercial Function at Companies House by adding additional roles to support the Function.

Our Commercial Function consists of Commercial Delivery, Contract Management & Governance and Assurance. This role is within the Governance and Assurance Team, and will supplement the new Commercial Governance Team that has recently been recruited to support the implementation of the new Procurement Act 2023 and assure commercial governance across Companies House.
As a Commercial Systems, Compliance & Reporting Manager, you�ll drive and support compliant procurement activity by others. In the new Governance and Assurance Team, we look after all the commercial systems and work hard to provide management information so decisions can be made based upon accurate and timely data.
In addition, you�ll support the, Band E, Commercial Governance, Assurance & Systems Lead in the preparation of commercial systems for the implementation of the proposed reform changes under the Procurement Act 2023.
This role may include line management for a Band C (EO).

Job description
Reporting to the Commercial Governance, Assurance & Systems Lead, your key responsibilities will be:
1. Maintain up-to-date commercial pipelines across all portfolios, and ensure data is correctly captured.
2. Ensuring that Companies House complies with procurement regulations, and wider guidance and policies.
3. Supporting policy changes through facilitated sessions and updating any related documentation, templates, and systems.
4. To actively undertake audits as required to improve data quality, ensuring completion of corrective actions as required.
5. Ensuring that records are managed in accordance with relevant policies and legal requirements and that the appropriate ways of working are implemented and embedded as standard practice.
6. Managing risks � identifying risks relating to legal and regulatory compliance, escalating as appropriate.
7. Assist in the induction, training, and professional development of commercial colleagues at all levels. Updating on-boarding packs to support transition into the team.
8. Managing your assigned workload to ensure they are delivered efficiently, effectively and to time.
9. Line Management, including day to day management, mentoring and staff development, where required.
Systems:
10. Supporting commercial systems changes and improvements to ensure compliance and effective internal ways of working. Keeping a roadmap of system improvements updated.
11. Understanding reporting requirements for the team, build and maintain reports and category dashboards to support category strategies.
12. Support the implementation of continuous improvements across the Commercial Function, supporting the associated improvement action plans, ensuring testing of functionality prior to roll out.
Person specification
Your role requires you to support the Commercial Delivery Team and Contract Management teams in its delivery of procurement activity;
We�re looking for an experienced Commercial Professional with:

13. Commercial knowledge and experience across the full commercial lifecycle within the UK public sector.
14. Experience of supporting the implementation of commercial systems, strategy, policies, and procedures.
15. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work across teams, building trust, bringing people together to achieve a common objective, whilst creating an effective network.
16. Experience of supporting commercial teams in building capability by sharing your knowledge, managing competing demands.
17. Demonstrated commitment to personal development.
Technical Skills - to be assessed at sift and/or interview:
18. Applicable professional qualification/s along with a good understanding of the principles of commercial management (, Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply, World Commerce & Contracting, Institute of Leadership & Management, CIPS) OR willingness to learn.
19. Demonstrable ability to work effectively and establish effective working relationships with professional colleagues.
20. Demonstrable knowledge of UK public sector procurement legislation
Desirable Skills
21. Companies House currently utilises Atamis as their procurement and contract management systems tool, experience of this or similar tools or a willingness to learn is desirable.
22. Experience working with data and reporting tools through programmes such as Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
