This position is offered on a permanent, part-time basis, working 16 hours per week (Mondays & Wednesdays, teaching entry level - level 2 maths). Who are Novus? It is a Category B male prison known for its extensive history and modern facilities. It offers a range of facilities aimed at rehabilitation and education. The prison's mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society. Skills, Qualifications and Experience To be successful in this role, you will need to: Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills Have the passion and ability to motivate and enthuse learners Utilise organisational skills to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and targets Be committed to positive team working Have experience of creating stimulating, vibrant environments which are conducive to learning and motivational for learners Have a track record of achieving of quality targets and producing accurate and timely reports Hold a teaching qualification and, where applicable, a relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months Hold a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)/ Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS), or commit to work towards within a specified timeframe (Applies to Teachers in YOI only) The above criteria are listed as essential on the role profile.
