Graduate Electrical Design Engineer Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire Salary: £28,000 - £34,000 (dependent on experience) About our client: A dynamic company driving low-carbon energy projects, with over £1bn planned investments in heat networks. We collaborate with local authorities and developers to design, build, and operate sustainable energy systems that decarbonize cities and communities. Our current projects include large-scale district heating and renewable energy systems across the UK. The Role: We seek a self-motivated Graduate Electrical Design Engineer with experience in electrical building services design. Based in Sheffield, this role supports heat network infrastructure projects and involves occasional UK site visits. You’ll manage designs from concept to operation, incorporating feedback to refine future projects. This position will differ from conventional design responsibilities in that the Graduate Engineer will be given the opportunity to help ‘own’ design projects from inception through to operation. Following the handover to our Operations Team, the engineer will continue to monitor and evaluate feedback from the Operations Team to help refine and improve the design and all future designs. Responsibilities: Design and model low-carbon energy systems, Produce detailed drawings, specifications, and feasibility reports. Survey and assess existing building energy systems. Collaborate across disciplines to ensure compliance during construction. Contribute to electrical services design for energy center's. Candidate Profile & Experience : Degree in Electrical Engineering with strong technical and design software skills. Competent in the numerate design of electrical services for large scale energy center's and multi-apartment buildings. Ability to produce detailed schematic representations of LV. Competent in AutoCAD Knowledge of LV systems, fire alarms, standby power, and electrical standards. Experience in in Amtech would be an advantage.
