You will be: The Continuous Improvement Manager plays a pivotal role in leading and managing projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget, following a structured framework that emphasises clear requirements, stakeholder engagement, and well-defined objectives. Effective communication with stakeholders is essential, as you will be responsible for managing these interactions, keeping everyone informed, and ensuring the successful implementation of projects. A key aspect of the role includes conducting onsite investigations and discovery activities to identify areas for improvement, resolve issues, and develop innovative solutions. Drawing on data from Central Analysts, operational expertise, feedback from operational teams, and legal and business information, you will identify problems and propose actionable solutions. It is crucial for Continuous Improvement Managers to effectively communicate the findings of these investigations, providing valuable insights for project development and prioritisation that drive the business forward. A significant part of the role involves coaching and training operational teams to instill a culture of continuous improvement with a strong emphasis on quality. Additionally, you will support the creation of cost-benefit proposals to assist the Excellence Manager and Senior Leadership Team in making informed decisions. Alongside project management responsibilities, the role involves handling various administrative tasks to ensure thorough documentation of all activities. This includes ordering spare parts, conducting equipment inspections, managing stock levels, and overseeing defect management while ensuring that all documentation complies with legal requirements, company policies, and procedures. Maintaining a safe and clean working environment is also essential, following our "clean as you go" policy in workshops and maintenance areas. Health and safety are paramount in this role. You will ensure all tasks are performed in accordance with training, Safe Systems of Work, and legislative requirements. This includes completing necessary training for all equipment used and ensuring that your actions do not pose risks to the health and safety of yourself or others. Adherence to site safety rules, correct handling and storage of substances, and wearing appropriate safety clothing and equipment are all expected. Reporting any accidents, potential hazards, or safety concerns to your line manager via the hazard reporting system is crucial to maintaining a safe working environment. Minimum: Good numerical skills, able to read & understand numerical data. Strong communication skills - verbal and written with the ability to interact positively at all levels. PC literate (Excel, Google Operating Systems), Microsoft user – basic level. Current UK Driving Licence Previous experience in motor vehicle maintenance, repair, engineering, or manufacturing. Strong analytical skills in diagnosing faults, particularly in electronics and vehicle electrical systems. Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Ability to perform effectively under pressure. Willingness to travel to other locations as needed. Preferred (in addition to minimum) Proven technical experience and a successful track record in motor vehicle maintenance, repair, engineering, or manufacturing. Strong ability to prioritize workload and adapt to changing business needs. Effective problem-solving skills, particularly under pressure. Solid foundational engineering skills with an open-minded, analytical approach to troubleshooting. Experience in vehicle inspection to MOT standards. Knowledge of best practice Health & Safety and Safe Systems of Working.
