Stagecoach West provides 38 million passenger journeys every year, employing over 1,400 colleagues and operating 400 vehicles from depots in Banbury, Bristol, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Oxford, Stroud, Swindon, and Witney. Not only are we a highly successful business, we’re also an integral part of the communities which we serve, connecting people through the operation over 23 million miles of routes every year across the region.
We’re currently recruiting a Lead Network Planner – part of our fantastic Commercial Team, who will be at the heart of growing these services and planning for the future, so the importance of this role cannot be understated.
So, what will you be letting yourself in for we hear you ask!
You will be pivotal in ensuring that we are using our resources to their full potential to match current customer demand and traffic conditions, and to provide a financially sustainable network for Stagecoach West. Success is measured in many ways, such as reliability, punctuality, staff engagement, customer satisfaction and the efficiency of the bus schedule.
The role is a key part of the commercial function and will include fantastic consultation as well as innovative thinking and always challenging what we do to deliver it even better. The Lead Network Planner will consult both internally with the SLT, Head of Commercial and the depot’s operations and engineering management and delivery teams as well as externally with local authorities and other stakeholders.
If you are interested in this role, it’s fair to say we need some specific experience. You’ll either be:
1. An existing Network Planner looking for a new challenge or change of scenery, or
2. A well-established Commercial Officer or Schedules Officer with a proven track record who is ready to make the step.
And…
1. You’ll need to be able to create bus timetables that meet the needs of our customers, utilising our resources as efficiently as possible.
2. Analyse our passenger trends, punctuality, and passenger demographics to make data led decisions to grow our market.
3. Assist the Head of Commercial in the production of ad-hoc reports, analysis and tender costings as required.
4. Support our Communications and Marketing Teams to produce staff or customer facing materials specifically relating to network changes.
Head office will be Gloucester, so if you're not already living in Gloucestershire, or elsewhere in our surrounding operating area, you'll need to be happy to relocate. So, if you’re equipped and committed to step into this incredible role, please apply via our careers site by 31st December 2024.
