The Division of Surgery is looking to appoint a Urology TCI Clerk on a full-time basis to support the elective activity for day case and inpatient admissions.
The successful candidate will have experience of using Cerner and ideally have TCI training, although this is not essential as training will be provided. They should have good people skills and be able to prioritise their own workload. Experience in a clinic setting would be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Create, book, admit, and discharge TCI encounters for patients.
2. Arrange the booking, reception, and follow-up outpatient appointments.
3. Complete all required documentation and computer records.
4. Locate and request case notes as required and check for information regarding admission.
5. Send out admissions letters and deal with all relevant inquiries from patients, relatives, and GPs.
6. Address any difficulties relating to the admission of the patient, referring to a higher level if required.
7. Ensure clear communications with the consultant and their secretary.
8. Ensure cancelled appointments are refilled where possible by reviewing the waiting list.
9. Ensure strict monitoring of patients' waiting times, i.e., targets to be achieved.
10. Liaise with multi-disciplinary staff regarding consultants' annual leave.
All new colleagues can expect to receive a warm and friendly Wirral welcome from the very first time they make contact with us. We are described as “competent and caring staff” by our patients.
