Led by the Ward Manager/Matron on our Nurse Practitioner-led ward, we are a fast paced surgical ward caring for elective patients and those who require further investigations/treatment following admission to The Northumbria Hospital. The ward provides holistic care for several surgical specialities including breast and reconstruction surgery, bariatric, upper and lower GI surgery as well as gynaecological surgery. We collaborate with practitioners across other departments to ensure continuity in patient care such as Occupational Therapy, physio, specialist nurses, social work, medical staff, theatres/recovery and our other Trust hospital sites.
