Job Title: Machining Maintenance Team Leader
Salary: £35,400 - £42,950 (dependent on experience)
Location: Peterborough
Additional Information: Multiple shift patterns available (shift premiums associated with shift patterns)

The Opportunity
A vacancy has arisen for a Maintenance Team Leader within the Machining Maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual to progress along the maintenance career path structure with the opportunity of progressing into the Section Manager role.
A skilled maintenance technician, the Team Leader will be expected to have leadership qualities within an established Agility controlled maintenance environment.
The Team Leader must have excellent communication, organisation and planning abilities and demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
What You Will Do
* Identify and drive efficiency improvements
* Monitor and improve shop floor safety, aggressively eliminate unsafe processes;
* Assure fixtures, tooling and processes are followed to meet production schedules;
* Determine priorities and sequences jobs;
* Schedule and prioritise constrained resources, and adjust staffing to meet flow and customer requirements;
* Determine and execute disciplinary action when appropriate;
* Ensure preventive maintenance is performed according to schedule;
* Implement Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, Internal Certification and others;
* Evaluate, assess, identify and lead the deployment of workforce training and development
* Actively deploy section value stream improvements;
* Practice and teach CPS Guiding Principles;
* Initiate and conduct process improvement dialogs with Team Leads and Team Members;
* Drive root cause corrective action projects and drive continuous improvement;
* Lead section status reporting and monitor/audit section metrics;
* Lead the creation, implementation and training of standard work procedures
* Achieve 5S targets for maintenance crib areas
* Lead improvement projects
What You Have:
* Be able to fault find on electrical, controls, pneumatic, hydraulic & mechanical systems
* Have experience in PLC related machines
* Work to a planned preventative maintenance schedule & ensure completion by others controlled via the Agility system.
* Be the Lead contact with Production & Engineering Department to ensure equipment availability.
People
* Be the Lead Maintenance contact on Shift to support Production Operations
* Able to deliver briefings verbally & document daily issues for handover
* Be self-motivated and have ability to motivate others
* Ensure that safe working practices are followed. Maintain documentation/records to verify appropriate Risk Assessments are adhered to.
Quality
* The candidate will ensure others complete tasks to a timescale & high standard
* Must sustain 5S, i.e. TPM tasks, Work area & Stores kept clean & well organised
* Able to investigate quality issues relating to machines and processes in a logical and structured manner
* An awareness of Quality Control Systems / Procedures is desirable
Velocity
* Must have a sense of urgency & be flexible to support Production Operations
* A proactive attitude to fixing the root cause of machine failures is essential plus the ability to use Agility data to improve OEE figures on a month by month basis.
* Support process improvements and all process change activities
* Effective Task Prioritisation
Cost
* Track spend within budget & lead cost saving ideas to improve company profitability
* Ensure Agility spares systems are utilised and controlled by team members
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
* NVQ Level 3 / Time served Apprentice background or equivalent qualification
* Experience of PLC, Electrical / Electronic processes, Fanuc Robotics and Fault finding / diagnostics
* Hydraulic & pneumatic machine control systems
* Experience of all Mechanical aspects of Machinery & Equipment
* Leadership skills
* Maintenance background
* Health & Safety procedures & systems experience
