The School of Psychology at the University of Aberdeen delivers excellent teaching and learning within a vibrant research-led educational environment. We pride ourselves on cultivating a supportive and collegiate academic community for our staff and students. As part of the continued development and expansion of the School, we are looking to recruit new members of teaching-focused academic staff to join our dedicated, welcoming, and inspiring team.
Job Description
The successful candidate(s) will join the School of Psychology as members of academic staff on the Teaching and Scholarship track. This will involve supporting and leading aspects of teaching and learning in various taught programmes and contributing to the delivery and assessment of teaching across all levels of study within the School.
The posts fall under the Scholarship career path, which attracts academic staff with an interest in applying state-of-the-art learning tools and methods to develop and deliver teaching programmes. The School promotes and supports excellence in education through research and development in teaching and learning.
The School is currently developing a new taught Masters programme in the Psychology of Mental Health, and we would particularly welcome applications from individuals with experience in mental health, clinical psychology, or wellbeing.
The School is also looking to improve the way it translates research findings to have impact beyond academia; to this end, any experience in applying research findings to real-world problems would be an advantage.
We have permanent and fixed-term posts available and are keen to encourage applications from people interested in working on a full-time or part-time basis.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 7, £46,485 per annum (pro-rated for part-time staff).
Prior to employment, the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate their right to work in the UK. This role may be eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route under the UKVI immigration rules but is dependent on factors specific to the candidate and if tradeable points can be used under the rules.
The School of Psychology embraces a diverse working environment and recognises the many benefits this can bring. Applications from individuals from across all of the equality protected characteristics are encouraged.
