Shire Care Ltd has vacancies in Stallingborough Lodge Nursing Home for Day Staff, to join an existing established care team.
Shifts are 8am to 8pm for days/8pm to 8am for nights and weekends will be included in staff rotas.
We have contract posts available.
All of our homes are CQC rated good and hold quality awards from the local authority.
Trained experienced staff are preferred but other candidates will be considered as full training is provided.
Responsibilities:
* Practice safe standards of personal and nursing care to service users as prescribed within individual care plans, ensuring that independence is not compromised.
* Work as part of a team to ensure that all care given is to the highest standard and all charts are accurately completed.
* Meet the physical and educational demand of the role.
* Abide by Company Policies and Procedures and conform to Care Quality Commission standards and the code of conduct for healthcare support workers and adult social workers in England (Skills for care).
* Show the ability and willingness to undertake appropriate training to develop as a carer.
* Attend training sessions as arranged and participate in the Company Supervision and Appraisal systems.
* Wear uniform correctly.
* Maintain good relations and effective communication with other staff, service users, visitors to the Home, and other Health Care Professionals.
* Participate in activities aimed at the enjoyment of service users.
* Respect the dignity, privacy, rights, and choice of all service users in the Home.
* Ensure service users’ rooms and living areas are comfortably tidy according to the wishes of the Resident.
* Participate in quality assurance strategies.
* Attend staff meetings.
* Ensure that the laundry continues to operate in the absence of the laundry staff.
* Record any care you are responsible for in the service users’ notes.
* Obtain consent prior to giving care or treatment.
* Undertake safe transfer/escort of service user between settings e.g. hospital appointments.
* Answer call bells as necessary and deal with requirements from service users.
* Offer support to both service users and their family members as required.
* Read the Care Plan of each service user to promote continuity of care.
* Understand and respect the service user’s rights to confidentiality.
* Be aware of the Health and Safety policy and report all potential hazards immediately.
* Provide care in accordance with the infection control policy and actively contribute to reducing the spread of infection in the home.

Salary: £11.44 /hour (Overtime hours are paid at £13.00 /hour).
After 6 months probationary period, you will get a signing bonus of £250.00.
