Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen within Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust for experienced, passionate and motivated midwife to work in the safeguarding team at our Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea site. You will be based in the Antenatal Clinic, Monday to Friday. We are looking for a full time Band 6 midwife working at Queen Charlottes & Chelsea Hospital to support vulnerable pregnant people with safeguarding concerns. You will provide high quality, evidence-based care and advice to pregnant people throughout the antenatal period. You will need to be very organised and efficient to run the safeguarding clinic consisting of booking and follow up appointments. In addition we are looking for candidates with evidence of effective communication and an understanding of the importance of Multidisciplinary decision making skills to influence and sustain high care standards, safety and quality. We are looking for a compassionate, motivated and enthusiastic midwife who wish to widen their midwifery skills and knowledge in this area. You must have good communication and time management skills and be a proactive team player. It is vital that you have a special interest in caring for vulnerable women and have a good understanding of maternity safeguarding. You will gain plenty of learning opportunities, have regular supervision, and attend study days to enhance your learning. Main duties of the job You will support the operational delivery of safeguarding practice across the Trust. To adhere to national, regional and local legislation, policies and recommendations. Carrying out safeguarding antenatal clinics, consisting of follow up and booking appointments. To work in partnership with women and their families, GP, obstetrician and other agencies to ensure optimum care. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care of mothers and babies in accordance with the Trusts policies and guidelines. Informed client choice within the limitations of the service. Actively promote and encourage a healthy lifestyle, advising and arranging support for women as required. Participate in pertinent information groups, facilitating preparation for childbirth and the postnatal period. Sharing relevant and appropriate information with staff within and outside of ICHT demonstrating safe multi-agency/partnership working in accordance with the principals of GDPR.
