Engineering Manager - Defence/Nuclear
Location: Aldermaston - minimum requirement of 3 days onsite
Start date: ASAP - subject to clearance transfer
Duration: 12 Months
Clearance: Applicants must currently hold the highest level of UK Government security clearance (DV).
Overview
We are seeking a Engineering Manager to assist the Head of Design Engineering in developing the Facility Design capability, encompassing both Improvements and Resource skills development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide facility design solutions, ensuring compliance with safety, security, and quality standards.
* Lead engineering efforts, acting as the primary contact for all technical matters on a project.
* Maintain design intent and configuration control from inception to handover.
* Assess engineering resource suitability and ensure competency.
* Oversee design documentation, risk assessments, and change management processes.
* Ensure compliance with Nuclear Site Licence Conditions (LC19, LC20, LC22) and CDM 2015 regulations.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* HNC/D qualification in a relevant discipline.
* Experience delivering multi-discipline design packages in regulated environments.
* Strong knowledge of HAZOP processes, building services, utilities, and production plant systems.
* Proven ability to manage external suppliers and in-house teams.
* Able to deliver design within a Nuclear Site Licence, specifically conditions: LC19 Construction or Installation of New Plant; LC20 Modifications to Design of Plant Under Construction and/or LC 22 Modification or Experiment on Existing Plant. Experience in working to requirements of CDM 2015.
