This role is responsible for managing the daily priorities of site services area and will be reporting to the Engineering Manager. Booking and contractors and prioritising the workload of our service contract providers. Ensuring all Chemicals and Tankers are booked in efficiently etc. This role will assist in the lead and delivery of asset care across the site, support the Engineering Manager in managing engineering systems for regulatory and local compliance and support the development of the wider Engineering and Operational teams to develop and improve site knowledge. Main Responsibilities Key accountabilities include: Maintaining building and facility standards including but not limited to lagging, energy systems etc Being responsible for all compliance activities on regulated systems such as Legionella, PSSR, LOLER, Effluent Discharge, water quality, AHU and fire detection/suppression Maintaining and supporting approved contractor register and the PTW system Managing contractors and sign off critical maintenance and compliance activities Ensuring all managed engineering systems are adhered to, and all work is carried out to relevant legislation and guidelines. Monitoring and updating of key systems which include the BMS, Cooling Towers, Effluent Plant etc. Delivering the shutdown maintenance activities and support out of hours requirements Compile and train out SOP’s and Work Instructions for facilities and site services equipment Key areas of work: Site Service Levels Assist in and lead the delivery of asset care across the Utilities and Facilities Function Carry out root cause analysis to determine and correct underlying performance issues including the expansion of the CBM program Manage engineering systems for regulatory or local compliance Support the development of the wider Engineering Team and engage with Operational teams to improve site knowledge specifically around the Effluent Plant Be the lead contact for crisis response with appropriate communication and escalation Actively seek, support, and deliver improvement projects. HEALTH AND SAFETY Maintain a safe working environment for all people on site in compliance with company and legislative requirements. Follow all engineering health and safety procedures. Be involved in the health and safety team and carry out health and safety functions as required. PEOPLE Effective communication through formal and informal engagement with operational staff. To participate in meetings/trials where engineering input is required. QUALITY/TECHNICAL STANDARDS Maintain Utilities, Buildings, and facilities in a working order in compliance with quality and technical requirements. Follow technical procedures related to general maintenance on site. Work closely with hygiene and operational teams to reduce Utility consumption and waste streams. Engage with cross functional Teams to reduce food safety risks and maintain exceptional quality standards NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT Assist and support the NFD team with trials and equipment solutions where necessary The Ideal Candidate Experience At least 5 - 7 years’ experience working within an Engineering position Experience of working in a food or other manufacturing environment, preferably in a shift engineering role Demonstratable experience working within Site Services or Utilities and Facilities Demonstratable experience of working in a customer focussed environment Experience working to high standards with a will to develop a working knowledge of the Kitchen and be flexible across all areas. Qualifications Mechanical and electrical certificate (NVQ3 or equivalent) Pref: 18th Edition, BOAS, Legionella Skills Be a good team player and have good communication skills Have a high level of IT knowledge and skill Be able to work both autonomously and part of a team Attributes Can work in a fast paced and changeable environment that require flexibility. Able to work calmly under pressure. Have a high level of attention to detail and take pride in their work Can problem solve effectively and efficiently
