You will be supporting the service by ensuring equipment is disinfected and available to the clinicians and the nursing team to carry out diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. You will play a key role in ensuring that the unit delivers service in line with National and local Decontamination Policies.
To maintain credibility and flexibility as a competent practitioner in an ever-changing environment while continuing to develop professionally in line with the demands of a responsive nursing service focused on the needs of patients.
Main duties of the job
Your responsibilities will include decontaminating, maintaining, and storing this equipment following Infection Prevention guidelines. The organization works closely with JAG utilizing JETS to assist you in becoming competent in your practice.
You will be part of a forward-thinking, enthusiastic team. Full induction (including four weeks supernumerary) and training will be provided depending on any previous experience you may have. We encourage and give staff the opportunity to develop their skills and competencies within this specialty.

Qualifications and training
* GCSE or Equivalent in English and Maths
* NVQ level 2 or care certificate
* Decontamination qualification or willingness to undertake
Clinical skills and Experience
* Basic IT skills
* Good interpersonal and communication skills
* Good standard of literacy & numeracy
* Experience of working in an Endoscopy unit
* Previous experience of problem-solving
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
Governance
* Knowledge of decontamination processes

* Awareness of DOH HTM01-06 BSG Decontamination standards

* Understanding of END21 competencies
