Your reason for being here…
Everyone at DRPG has a purpose and yours is to develop next-level applications and systems, all while supporting our team to the best it can be.
The way you roll…
Your positivity is infectious, and your creative ideas spread like wildfire too. You are super organised, prioritise your workload like a pro and have what we can only describe as an eagle eye for detail. When faced with a challenge, you're not a problem finder; you're a problem solver. If you stumble across a roadblock, you'll pave a new way forward and you’ll make sure to take every member of your team with you.
Leadership? Check! You've mentored junior developers so well that they now think in code and dream in algorithms, and you love doing it. You know your stuff but you’re not afraid to ask for help when you need it either and under pressure, you’re as cool as a cucumber. Most importantly, you take real pride in your work and genuinely believe ‘anything’s possible’.
How you make it all possible…
1. Developing and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure WordPress applications
2. Collaborating with product owners, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and specifications
3. Designing and implementing efficient and reusable code while adhering to best practices and coding standards
4. Conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback to ensure code quality and maintainability within subject matter expertise
5. Mentoring and providing technical guidance to less-experienced developers, promoting knowledge sharing and professional growth within the team
6. Participating in the planning, estimation, and prioritisation of development tasks
7. Identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and other potential issues within WordPress
8. Staying up to date with emerging trends and technologies in CMS and web development, as well as evaluating their potential impact on our product offering
9. Collaborating with the DevOps team to ensure seamless deployment and continuous integration processes
This list is not exhaustive, and you will be expected to work flexibly and undertake other such duties as management may, from time to time, reasonably require.
What’s in your toolbox…
1. Heaps of knowledge when it comes to secure design and WordPress standards
2. Plenty of experience delivering projects using Agile practices
3. Debugging and troubleshooting skills
4. Strong communication skills that can turn even the most complex technical jargon into plain English
5. Good working knowledge of Object-Oriented Design, Design Patterns and coding best practices such as Clean Code and TDD
6. Any experience of Drupal / React / PHP 8 / Laravel / Git / version control and CI would be a bonus
7. Bags of positivity (even under pressure)
8. An attitude that’s not so much ‘can do’, but ‘let's do this together’
Get to know us…
We’re one of the most unexpectedly all-round capable communications agencies that’s been on the go for years – ever since our head honcho set up shop in a shed back in 1980, in fact.
Since then, we’ve made it our mission to make anything possible for our many and varied clients, putting our creative flair into delivering strategic communication campaigns, digital solutions, film and videos, events, exhibitions, and a whole lot more in between. We’ve grown a lot, but we’ve kept everything that made us great, back from the very day we first started out. Our global HQ and largest studios are smack bang in the middle of the UK and well worth a visit to see for yourself!
Hang on, there’s more…
The role will operate on a hybrid basis, with a mix of remote work and work in either our Hartlebury, London or Manchester offices. There will be times when you’ll need to work from our other offices and undertake other related commercial duties both in the UK and overseas. Flexibility is key! We’re a friendly team. We really, really welcome anyone who wants to become part of a brilliant company. If you’re passionate with a cracking drive to deliver on our ‘anything’s possible’ mindset, we’d love to hear from you!
