Tenancy Support Assistant
Unit/Team: Housing Services
Reports to: Housing Services Team Leader
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
* To assist the Tenancy Support Officer in providing intensive support to tenants with complex needs who are already living in homes, ensuring they have a support plan tailored to their needs.
* To support tenants with complex needs in sustaining their tenancy and living independently.
* To contribute to a positive working environment as part of the wider team.
* To collaborate with a multi-agency team to support customers in fulfilling their individual support plans.
* To maintain customer care in line with the organization’s purpose, aims, and values.
* To contribute to delivering a comprehensive Housing Service according to the organization's policies and procedures.
* To work on your own initiative under the direction of the Housing Services Team Leader and Tenancy Support Officer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Deliver tenancy support services in partnership with internal departments and external organizations to all referred customers.
* Develop individual support plans with customers and assist them in adhering to these from the start of their tenancy.
* Work closely with the Housing Management and Customer Advice and Support Team to provide a seamless customer journey.
* Meet Best Value requirements, performance indicators, and operational targets.
* Support customers in income maximization and money management.
* Maintain knowledge of local services available to customers.
* Stay updated on benefits, grants, and awards customers may be eligible for.
* Implement a referral system under the guidance of the Tenancy Support Officer to provide intensive support to tenants in need.
* Collaborate with Housing Officers and the Revenues Team to resolve any debts owed.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Participate in working groups to support the development of the team and housing services.
* When required, maintain a diary of events to assist in legal proceedings.
* Respond to emergencies such as fire alarms, following established procedures.
* Ensure any accidents involving staff, tenants, or visitors are reported in accordance with health and safety procedures.
* Promote tenant participation and equal opportunities within the service.
* Perform other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager.
