Package: Basic between £50,000 - £65,000 plus excellent benefits
Location: West Yorkshire (Leeds, Doncaster, Sheffield, Rotherham, Wakefield, Pontefract, Huddersfield, Barnsley, Bradford)
About the Company: Our client is a leading manufacturer of flow control and fluid handling components. This successful international group is renowned for their engineering capabilities, quality components, and innovation. They manufacture a wide variety of products and engineering services into major industrial sectors.
The Role:
* You will manage the UK business, including P&L.
* Drive sales across the UK and hire a sales professional to help grow multimillion profitable sales.
* Develop and enhance the technical and core competence skills of our internal team.
* Increase the efficiency of the internal sales function.
* Enhance the sales funnel regarding highly technical RFQs and high-value opportunities.
* Take responsibility for large and technically complicated enquiries.
* Support and improve customer service and order book management.
* Work collaboratively with the marketing team.
* Ensure the achievement of sales targets.
* Analyse market trends and customer needs to inform sales strategy.
Leadership:
* Support to recruit, train, and manage the internal customer service/technical team.
* Set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching.
* Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
* Collaborate with the external sales team to understand customer needs.
* Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Conduct regular sales performance reviews.
Sales Forecasting and Reporting:
* Prepare accurate mid-month and month-end forecasts for management review.
* Ensure timely reporting of sales activities and results.
The Person:
* Proven track record of success in sales leadership, preferably in the fluid handling or flow control industry.
* DYNAMIC / Entrepreneurial / Can-do attitude / AMBITION.
* Experience in developing effective sales strategies.
* Strong network of contacts within the industry.
* Excellent understanding of market trends and competitor activity.
* Experience in building and managing high-performing sales teams.
* Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
* Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management.
Desired Skills:
* Proven experience as a SM/GM or in a relevant engineering leadership role.
* CRM implementation and management experience.
* In-depth understanding of market research methods.
* Knowledge of performance reporting and budgeting processes.
* Commercial awareness with a strategic mindset.
* Excellent organizational and people skills.
* Mechanical Engineering Qualification (BTEC HNC or equivalent).
* Good fluid engineering background.
* Adept technical presentation and negotiation skills.
* Full clean driving licence.
