About the job Job summary The Ministry of Defence employs over 50,000 Civil Servants. Within that, the Army Top Level Budget (TLB) employs around 7,000 MOD Civil Servants located at over 300 locations. As the Security Audit Senior Analyst you will be working in 2 Military Intelligence Battalion (2Mil Bn), the Field Army's formation that enables the delivery of security within the Firm Base to support the HQ Field Army, its personnel and their dependants in the UK and overseas Garrisons. You will be responsible for delivering strategic, tactical, and operational intelligence and risk products. Your role will enable the Unit and wider customers to be pro-active against Security threats both within the UK and overseas areas of responsibility. This position is advertised at 37 hours per week. Job description The role is critical in monitoring, detecting, analysing, and responding to security incidents and threats with precision. Your expertise in security technologies, practice, and procedures combined with incident response will be pivotal in protecting our assets and people. Responsibilities will include: Deliver analysis to help product owners make decisions based on evidence Measure and assess outcomes, for example, 'what success looks like', developing hypotheses and measurement frameworks Collect relevant and accurate data by managing and developing digital analytics instrumentation - working with developers Identify where user experience can be improved and working with teams to overcome barriers Provide recommendations for action based on data in easily understandable and engaging ways such as: show and tell, blog posts, dashboards and other data visualisation methods Contribute to the performance analysis community, assisting with training and knowledge transfer of digital analysis principles to wider audiences and expanding your own and others data analysis skills Maintain positive working relationships within 2 MI Bn, Field Army Troops Understand Group, other services, and relevant supporting UK civilian agencies Be prepared to conduct Protective Security Audits and produce reports in line with Army Policy Be prepared to travel extensively with overnight stays Opportunities to attend professionally recognised courses to enhance your new role Conduct other security tasks as directed by Line Manager Person specification Essential Criteria Be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and confidently with a broad range of people using a variety of styles (oral and written) Be able to work independently, as well as part of a wider team Have keen attention to detail and proof-reading skills Be confident working across the O365 suite of applications Background in security Background in personnel management Full UK Driving Licence is required as you will need to be able to conduct audits at various establishments around the UK Desirable Criteria Some experience of working in a defence setting, ideally within the Counterintelligence or Protective Security area Have an interest and very good understanding of current affairs including threats that are relevant to the Army and wider Defence It is unusual that all candidates will meet all the desirable criteria.
